The Cost of Unpredictable Prices
The prices of agricultural commodities like rice, wheat, or maize can change significantly between planting and harvesting. Weather disruptions, shifts in global demand, supply shocks, and local market fluctuations can all move prices unexpectedly. For anyone buying and selling these commodities, that uncertainty directly affects profitability.

The Tool That Protects You: Futures, Hedging, and Liquidity
A deliverable futures contract lets you agree on a price now for a commodity you'll buy or sell later. If the market moves against you in the meantime, the contract cushions the blow. For an exporter who's promised a rate to an overseas buyer, or a processor who needs to know their input cost months ahead, that certainty is genuinely valuable. That's hedging, fixing tomorrow's price today.
However, a futures contract is only useful if you can actually trade it when you need to. If there's no one on the other side of your order, you're stuck. You can't open the position that protects you, and you can't close it when the time comes. A market nobody is actively making is just an idea on paper.
That's exactly the gap MFTC fills. Because we're continuously quoting both sides, there's a working, liquid market waiting for you when you need to hedge, not a queue and a hope. Put simply: liquidity is what makes hedging actually work, and providing that liquidity is our job.

Our Role in Pakistan's Agri-Market Modernisation
As a registered market maker on PMEX, we play a direct, working role in Pakistan's shift toward modern agricultural futures. We provide the day-to-day liquidity that turns newly launched rice, wheat, and maize contracts from paper instruments into markets people can actually trade in.
PMEX has partnered with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to strengthen these markets and support the Electronic Warehouse Receipt system, all under the oversight of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). Being chosen by PMEX to co-host the first deliverable rice and wheat futures roadshow places us at the centre of that work.

FAQs
MFTC (Meskay & Femtee Trading Company) is a PMEX-registered market maker for rice, wheat, and maize futures. We provide continuous buy and sell pricing so participants can hedge whenever they need to, and we co-hosted PMEX’s first deliverable rice and wheat futures roadshow in Karachi.
Crop prices move with weather, global demand, and supply shocks, factors no single business controls. That’s exactly why tools to manage price risk matter for anyone dealing in rice, wheat, or maize.
A futures contract lets you agree on a price now for a trade you’ll settle later. If the market moves against you in between, the contract offsets much of that loss, giving you cost certainty to plan around.
Because a hedge only works if you can trade when you need to. As a market maker, MFTC keeps the market active, so you can open and close positions instead of waiting for a counterparty who may never come.
Farmers, traders, processors, exporters, and institutions, everyone across the value chain, gains from transparent pricing and a dependable place to manage risk.
